ICE Watch
An ICE Watch is meant to help neighbors stay informed about ICE activity in real time — not just by rumor or speculation, but through organized observation and communication. People share information about sightings, vehicles, uniforms, and patterns so the community knows what’s happening if agents are operating nearby.
An ICE Watch also fosters collective support, ensuring people know their rights, know how to document encounters, and have trusted networks to check on each other’s safety. So, make copies and share this packet with your friends and neighbors. No credit is needed. If you alter the content to tailor to your needs/community, please remove the QR code and website from page 1 which points them to this version.
IMPORTANT – READ BEFORE DISTRIBUTING/CANVASSING:
Be Cautious: Building a network for rapid community communication doesn’t take much, but you do need to be concerned about security. It is OK to exclude people and organizations who would work against this cause and put people’s safety at risk. If starting a Signal chat or other group, only add people who you trust or who have been vetted by another trusted member of the group.
If you’re going door to door: As always, be careful talking to strangers. Not everyone sees what’s happening as wrong, and for some reason they love to fight about it. Don’t waste your energy trying to change someone’s mind — in fact, it’s better for the cause to keep this information out of their hands. Skip the houses with the Trump flags, and consider using the canvassing script to suss out the haters and walk away.
If you know who the “cool” neighbors are: They can point you to the next cool neighbor – and tell you which neighbors you should just skip. This is more of a Networking approach and will hopefully reduce your exposure to the haters.
